Strategic Design

Harpeth Hall’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan provided the framework and road map for the goals of our school and our community leading to today. This plan affirmed our commitment to leading-edge teaching and learning, to amplifying a strong college preparatory program, to building community and embracing diversity, and to long-term financial sustainability.

Now, it is time to plan for the future of our school and our girls as we develop vision and strategy for the next chapter. A tenet of Harpeth Hall is to celebrate, appreciate, and envision the limitless opportunities the future holds for our girls and our school. Harpeth Hall’s next strategic design will create a blueprint for that future — and you, as part of our Harpeth Hall community, are a key part of the vision process.

How the Strategic Design Process Works

Throughout 2023 and into 2024, the Harpeth Hall Board of Trustees, the strategic design team, and school leadership will engage our entire school community in strategic design efforts, which will gain us the benefit of diverse perspectives and build broad alignment. To ensure that we do our work thoroughly and well, Harpeth Hall has partnered with Greenwich Leadership Partners (GLP). Through GLP's expertise and guidance, we will articulate a clear vision of Harpeth Hall's future with a strategy for long-term success.

Who is Greenwich Leadership Partners (GLP)?
Since 2010, Greenwich Leadership Partners has supported independent schools nationwide in thinking strategically about leadership and planning. Stephanie Rogen, the author of Creating Schools that Thrive, leads an expert team with extensive experience working with schools to guide them through a strategic design process.

What is a strategic plan?
According to Greenwich Leadership Partners, “Planning is where strategy and leadership come together in a dynamic process for designing the future, making decisions and executing effectively."

Who will take a lead role?

  • We all will. Community members' voices and ideas lead us forward.
  • The strategic design committee of the board will manage the process. Team members include trustees, faculty and staff, parents, students, and alumnae.

How does this get done?

  • Listening sessions and committee meetings
  • Stakeholder interviews
  • Surveys to all groups of stakeholders

How will GLP help Harpeth Hall?

  • Plan strategically for the future
  • Harness our talent in the present
  • Build capacity to execute in the present and future
